Our best in class service delivery, work methods, site locations and commercial partnerships will help you work toward 35% cost reduction. All delivered with the assurance that we manage our people and the environment safely.

What really separates us from our competitors is two things – our people and our onshore locations. Our multi-skilled engineers can work in all our onshore and offshore locations:

  • Reduced POB = reduced costs, greater flexibility and reduced inactivity
  • Sustainable Employment = dealing with the peaks and slumps of the industry
  • Our capability is underpinned by the experience of our multiskilled workforce

The Decom team have been working on decommissioning projects for over 20 years within engineering, technical and commercial roles. This means we understand your pains and we know what you need to do and when to demonstrate your compliance

Sustainability
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. Our ambition is to achieve 100% recycling/reuse rates from our activities, and we will work with you to identify fresh approaches to help realise this goal. We continually review our waste routing processes to offer you the most sustainable solutions available. Our location and local supply chain support the Proximity Principle wherever possible and we use the Circular Economy approach to drive the outcomes of your project up the waste hierarchy. Internally, we report against sustainability indicators established by the Green Alliance around biodiversity, atmospheric emissions as well as wastes and effluents.

Assurance
Environmental stewardship, reputation management and regulatory compliance are key to us as your trusted decommissioning partner. Our subject matter experts, strategic permitted locations and control of works provide you with assurance that you have chosen the right team to do the right thing. Our processes are visible and transparent. We track and test every waste movement and disposal option as well as our HSEQ performance on an ongoing basis. This gives you the confidence that your operational metrics are achieved. SEPA have recognised all our locations as “Excellent”, demonstrating our commitment to compliance.

Duty of Care
Duty of Care runs throughout all our activities – not only from a compliance perspective, but also the duty of care we owe to the environment and to future generations. Our collaborative partners have the same considerations. We have a rigorous sub-contractor selection, monitoring and management process which includes duty of care audits of our key partners and recycling and treatment outlets, while seeking to internalise waste processing where appropriate. We don’t consider the job complete until we can demonstrate to you that we have fulfilled your obligations.

Engagement
Early engagement is essential to the success of a major project. Rather than simply pricing a project once you have decided how you would like it done, we can offer alternatives that allow you to think differently about the challenges you face. We welcome input from our customers on the options you believe would benefit you and work together to see how they can be best delivered. We are also heavily invested in stakeholder engagement through our corporate social responsibility activities and reports to ensure everyone involved with and interested in the impacts of our operations understands both what we do and how and why we do it.

COES Caledonia (UK) Limited is a subsidiary of the maritime giant China Ocean Engineering Shanghai (COES), historically known as Shanghai Salvage Company (SSC) and established in 1951 as a division of the Chinese Ministry for Transport. COES has committed to spending almost $1 billion, over the coming years, in new state of the art vessels to support the international Oil and Gas and Offshore Renewables markets.

COES has recently established a UK project office on the Dundee waterfront. This has been very well received by developers, client operators, port authorities, local government (Dundee), Scottish Government, Scottish Development International, Scottish Enterprise, industry trade associations, OGA regulator, OGUK and tier 1 management contractors (potential partners to COES).

COES prides itself on being forward thinking and innovative and as such is striving to meet the demand of the growing offshore renewables market, which of course comes with its own particular challenges.

COES has seized the opportunity to put its vast maritime experience to good use by manufacturing a DP Class 2, self-elevating & self- propulsion vessel, and once complete, it will have the ability to transport and install the foundation, tower support, machinery cabin and the blade of the wind turbine for an offshore wind farm.

COES is now one of only a few companies that has understood the challenges of the offshore renewables market and has adapted its fleet to provide the solutions that many developers and operators are in a great need of. The aim is for COES to become a preferred partner of choice in the sector.

Offshore Decommissioning Services (ODS) is focused on the removal and transportation of offshore structures, using its unique heavy lift vessel; Moonraker 1.

Moonraker 1 has been designed in-house by ODS and uses innovative disruptive technology to provide economic, safe and environmentally friendly heavy lift services to support offshore oil and gas project management, engineering, and decommissioning facilities and subsea infrastructures removal services.

The self-propelled semi-submersible is capable of 30,000 MT single topsides lift (12 x 2,500MT heave compensated lifting beams) and up to 12,000 MT heave compensated jacket and subsea infrastructure lift.

Moonraker 1 will be the world’s first U shaped heavy lift semi-submersible of its kind, providing significant stability as ODS aims to deliver over 300 days operational availability in the North Sea.

Station keeping will be delivered by eight 4.5MW fixed pitch, fully azimuthing variable speed thrusters, powered by eight, 8.85MW dual fuel four-stroke gensets and four separate engine rooms to provide DP3 redundancy.

With 4 ROV stations onboard, two deck cranes (1x300MT and 1×1,000MT) and over 3,500m² of available laydown area, Moonraker 1 will have the potential to continue the lighter subsea removal campaigns during the less favourable weather window. ODS aims to sea fasten the structures onto the deck space, thus reducing the frequency of transit to shore side for offloading, and therefore minimizing its carbon footprint.

Moonraker 1 will be an environmentally responsive LNG powered vessel, meeting the Tier 3 of MARPOL Annex VI carbon emissions requirements.

Please view our animated video of Moonraker in action here.

The ODS team brings a wealth of vessel design and operations, oil and gas project and decommissioning experience and expertise.

A key offering of ODS is innovative commercial, contractual and pricing models to deliver very cost effective decommissioning solutions, while protecting the financial interests of all contracting parties.

ODS uniquely provides heavy single lift capability for safe, environmentally friendly and regulatory compliant removal and transport to shore of offshore facilities and subsea infrastructure. This is performed in conjunction with other alliance members as a seamless operation with minimal complexity, but full transparency to client organisations.

Robertson Metals Recycling Ltd (Robertson Metals) is a privately-owned company specialising in the purchase, processing and exporting of scrap metal. Operating from two quayside locations on the East Coast of Scotland, we are able to provide onshore disposal for metals arising from oil and gas installations (small piece meal structures, umbilicals, flow lines etc).

Robertson Metals operates from the Port of Dundee and is ideally located to receive materials from offshore installations. The site holds a full Waste Management Licence (WML/1111882), ISO Accreditations and is FPAL registered. We have direct access to one of several main quays within the port thus providing an efficient route for materials to be moved from the quayside directly into a licenced yard.

Scrap metal and cables are processed in Dundee (where we have shearing and cutting capabilities) or at our site in Inverkeithing which operates under PPC License. Robertson Metals in Inverkeithing owns and operates a 5000HP Metso Lindeman shredder and a 1250 Metso Eta-cut Shear which are used to separate and size metal prior to being shipped directly to European Steel Mills for melting into new steel. The company is therefore able to offer a complete audit trail of material arriving on the quayside to final recycling at the mills.
As a company we process approx. 200,000 tonnes of metal (ferrous and non-ferrous) annually and we are the largest exporter of scrap metal on the East Coast of Scotland.

Our website provides an overview of the business and our capabilities as a company:

Company Summary:
Well-Safe Solutions is exclusively focused on the well abandonment market, offering the first fully integrated “Tier 1” service provision in this domain. Well-Safe will deliver safe and efficient multi-operator, multi-well plug and abandonment (P&A) operations using dedicated bespoke P&A assets deployed as part of the P&A Club concept in collaboration with clients. Retaining and sharing lessons learned, a bespoke technical delivery process and unique commercial model is used to deliver significant cost reduction to clients.

Bringing together a wealth of decommissioning oil and gas knowledge, with over 500 wells worth of experience across rig, service and operator backgrounds, the Well-Safe team provide complete P&A capability from front-end engineering and design to project execution

Well-Safe recognised a different approach to P&A operations was required to deliver across uncommonly long timeframes – and therefore needed stable and predictable pricing to be established. To enable this, it became evident that ownership of key assets was necessary to be able to provide that long-term price stability and predictability. Well-Safe has since acquired the Well-Safe Guardian, a semi-submersible, which is currently undergoing conversion into a bespoke well abandonment asset. With the addition of a saturation dive spread and Riserless Subsea Intervention system, the unit aims to deliver a materially different solution to the decommissioning market.

Unique Role of Company in Alliance:
As a part of the Forth and Tay Alliance, and in conjunction with other service companies, Well-Safe will deliver full scale well abandonment solutions from design engineering through to abandonment operations, whilst simultaneously supporting regulatory reporting and HSE leadership.
